International stars and their wineries in Provence,

From Kylie Minogue to George Clooney, international stars are getting more and more interest in our beautiful terroir and our wines.

Provence, famous for its picturesque landscapes and Mediterranean lifestyle, is also a region renowned for its production of exceptional wines. Among the many wineries that dot this sunny region, some have gained worldwide renown thanks to their association with famous personalities. In this article, we take you on a tour of Provence’s star wineries, where artistic talent meets the art of winemaking.

Miraval, Correns,

Everyone knows Brad Pitt and his Domaine, purchased in 2011 with his ex-wife Angélina Jolie. Domaine Miraval is located in Correns, Var. This magnificent château/bastide extends over 600 hectares of land with a pine forest, olive grove, lake and orchard. The estate is also equipped with a recording studio that has already welcomed numerous artists. Founded in 1977 by jazz pianist Jacques Loussier and sound engineer Patrice Quef, it operated under the name Studio Miraval until the mid-2000s. It ceased operations when the actors acquired the estate in 2011. Internationally renowned, it has been used by numerous bands including Pink Floyd, AC/DC and The Cranberries.

Château de Chausse, La Croix Valmer,

Charles Cohen, real estate developer and french film producer in the USA, was also keen to go green and invest in a wine estate in Provence. He reportedly had a real “coup de coeur” for Château de Chausse and acquired it in 2016. A 15-hectare property based in La Croix-Valmer, Château de Chausse produces 25,000 bottles of red wine, 20,000 of rosé and 8,000 of white. All organically grown. The Francophile New York owner is now investing in his two passions: wine and French cinema. The winery has just been refurbished and reopened in 2023 after 2 years of renovation. Discover Château de Chausse on a private tour with us, in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Château Marguï, Chateauvert

One of Georges Clooney’s neighbors is none other than Georges Lucas, the director and producer of the Star Wars films. Since 2017, he has been the owner of Château Margüi. The estate comprises 15 hectares of vines, 5 hectares of olive groves and 65 hectares of forest. This estate is part of the “Skywalker vineyards”, George Lucas’ vineyard committee. The “Skywalker vineyards” include Château Margüi, Viandante del cielo, an estate in Italy, and Skywalker Ranch in California. On his “Skywalker” committee, Georges Lucas produces not only wine, but also olive oil and honey.

Château Sainte-Roseline, Les Arcs,

In 2020, Kylie Minogue chose to team up with a Cru classé estate, Château Sainte Roseline. The project was born during the recording of her 14th album. After a day of recording, she and her team decided to go to a restaurant. During her meal, she tasted a Provence rosé that instantly appealed to her. As if on cue, she launches into the idea of creating her own wine. Château Sainte Roseline opened its doors to her, and the result was Cuvée Kylie Minogue, a fresh and elegant gourmet rosé.

With its delicious nougat, Café Sénéquier is a veritable institution in Saint-Tropez. The film crew carefully chose the setting, as it is the meeting place for celebrities visiting the French Riviera. It was also in this emblematic location that Etam chose to dress the place for an evening to present its new swimwear collection for summer 2023, in Saint-Tropez.
