Featured in Var-Matin : Vineyards of St-Tropez in a vintage car !

Beyond The Wine is proud to be featured on the front page of the renowned regional daily newspaper Var-Matin. Journalist Olivier Bouisson recounts an American couple’s immersive experience in the heart of the vineyards of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, featuring wine tastings during the harvest season, encounters with locals, and a ride in our legendary red Citroën 2CV. This wonderful recognition highlights wine tourism in the Var region for both locals and visitors from around the world.

A nice surprise for our American visitors:

The journalist joined us on a tour organized for Britney and Robert, an American couple visiting from Florida and South Carolina. Robert had planned a wonderful surprise for his partner on their second day of vacation: a chance to explore the region in a different way. As a result, Var-Matin readers get to experience, through their eyes, a getaway that combines cultural heritage, cinema, and the wines of Provence. Beyond The Wine was one of the highlights of their trip, and we’re thrilled about it. We had the pleasure of introducing them to our region with our famous “French touch.”

On their way to Château des Marres, with a first stop at Ferme des Lices to learn about the region’s grape varieties, the couple arrived at Château des Marres in Ramatuelle in our legendary vintage car.

Exclusivity and a warm, friendly atmosphere at the heart of the grape harvest:

Afterward, they were treated to a special experience. Right in the middle of harvest season, amid the constant comings and goings of trailers and the hustle and bustle of the winery, Britney and Robert had the chance to taste the first juice from the Rolle and Tibouren grape varieties straight from the press. It was the perfect opportunity to weave together technical details and anecdotes about the estate. The article enthusiastically describes the friendly atmosphere of our tour, even highlighting the moments of laughter when our visitors struck poses wearing a cornette and a gendarme’s kepi, in homage to the famous Gendarme of Saint-Tropez !

Great exposure for wine tourism in the Var region:

With a very large readership, Var-Matin is the leading newspaper in our region, and this feature highlights wine tourism in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, something we’re working to promote. It also shows that our concept, which is very common in Anglo-Saxon countries, is becoming increasingly popular in our country as well, with a distinctly French flair. A fun little anecdote shared in the article: it was by asking ChatGPT for a “fantastic wine tour” that Robert discovered Beyond The Wine!

Translation of the excerpt :

“I feel like I’m in a fairy tale.”
“I love it!” exclaims an enthusiastic Brutney, who, like her partner, had never seen the movie or the vintage car before. “But we’re in a movie. Did you see me dressed like a nun?” I grew up watching Disney movies like *101 Dalmatians*, *The Hunchback of Notre Dame*, *Beauty and the Beast*… That shaped my image of France, and right now, I feel like I’m in a fairy tale.”
In fact, the flamboyant Floridian couldn’t wait to try escargots at her very first dinner. “France is all about croissants, rosé, and escargots, right? But you’re French, after all!” she jokes.
