A not-to-be-missed event in the Var,

Every year, the 3rd weekend in October is a special date for the vineyards of France. Vignobles & Découvertes destinations open their doors to the general public to explore the wines and vineyards of France in a new light.

This 11th edition is no exception, with a lot of vineyards all over the country planning fun and original activities that are sure to make visitors dream!

At Beyond The Wine, we’re looking forward to celebrating this weekend and putting local wineries in the spotlight!

On Saturday, October 19th, Beyond The Wine will be at the Moulin Communal in Callas for a guided tour, followed by a tasting of local olive oils and olives, accompanied by 4 Dracénie wines. The wine guide will offer a commented tasting of these wines.

Then, on Sunday, October 20th, Sonia Ferchaud, wine guide and incoming agency for Coeur du Var Tourisme, will be offering not one, but two wine-tasting workshops in the heart of the Réfectoire of l’Abbaye du Thoronet. On the programme: a horizontal tasting of 4 wines from the Coeur du Var region.

Horizontal tasting is the ideal way to discover the wines of a region. It allows you to taste and compare different wines from the same vintage and appellation. There are also what are known as ‘vertical tastings’: these involve tasting the same wine but comparing it over several years.

All we have to do now is wait patiently for that famous weekend!

These activities are only available in French. To book, go on the French version of the website.

Sonia Ferchaud, has been a wine guide since 2018 in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and beyond. She has her WSET 3 and the Connaissance des vins de Provence certification. She’ll be delighted to share her passion and knowledge with you.
